Should all individuals without work be allowed to draw welfare?
This is quite a sensitive topic because multiple people are poor and have to experience this for themselves. Many thanks to those that want to discuss!
The welfare system in the United States is severely corrupted. I cannot speak for the UK because I haven't researched your system. But very lazy people here are drawing welfare (tax payer money) and proceed to go out and buy weed/drugs/liquor instead of paying for much needed food, a house, providing for their family, etc. Here's the problem. I don't want to be paying for someone else who feels the need to exploit the system. Yes, I work, and yes, part of my paycheck every month goes out to pay for those people.
Now the other side of my point of view. I am so very well aware that there are people out there trying as hard as they can to get by and need some financial support. That's great, that's where I want to put my money. But it's that minority that messes it up for everyone, right? As a caring person, I sincerely try to donate whenever I can to people that need it the most. But I sure as heck don't want to be paying for the lazy that don't want to work.
Besides my opinion on the issue, let's look at the other - the liberal viewpoint. There are many out there that think all people are entitled to money - everyone helps each other and we start to drift towards the middle class - everyone, rich or poor. The corruption in the system is very minor and makes no difference to the validity of the welfare system: everyone should receive money, no matter their case.
In fact, many American liberals stood by Bernie Sanders, a socialist, who said that college would be free and the welfare system would be ramped up so that everyone can have a chance.
