Do you believe in conspiracy theories?

Is there any you think are true? Any you think are absolutely ridiculous?

I think 99% of the time they are ridiculous and people generally support them because it's amusing, but there must be some which are true. I don't follow or believe any in particular, but the world isn't so black and white. People are cunning and governments corrupt — there has to be some dodgy business going on behind closed doors.

Mostly based on ignorance and fear tbh, I mean sure underhanded deals happen and stuff but the big ones like moon landing, 9/11, NWO, Roswell, all easily rubbished by the simple fact that humans are terrible and someone would have leaked real proof by now as well as technology getting in the way. Much easier to do dastardly deeds before the press and especially the internet

Many of the true conspiracy theories are half conspiracy and half lies. Take Britain's EU entry for example - we know from Foreign Office archives that the government purposely withheld the implications (federal Europe) of Common Market entry from the public.

But the stuff about lizards? Nah.

What constitues as a conspiracy theory?

Do they have to be related to goverment/secret societies?

If I believe that my TV is listening to me, am I a conspiracy theorist?

But generally no, most of them are ridiculous.
