Good news. The EU seem to believe they own our fishing grounds as though we were some sort of colony.

Lord Frost seems to be doing a good job and not backing down like the weaklings running the show under PM Theresa May.

A deal would've been nice but given the nerve of our European neighbours in demanding our fishing waters, they can go take a running jump.

Australia-style relationship suits me just fine.

They're unable to do so as Australia doesn't have an FTA with the EU. They trade on WTO terms, like we (and the EU) currently do with America.

WTO terms is the de facto relationship in international trade.

So it's not a deal, they're just using the phrase "Australia-style" to make it sound like they've done something

Relationship, yes. Australia has bilateral agreements with the EU on a sector by sector basis (eg, tourism/visas/security etc).

I always thought this was preferable to a comprehensive overarching agreement anyway so I am pretty happy with such an outcome.

In related news the House of Lords has just sent back the Internal Market Bill to the Commons by rejecting it by a huge majority. This however will not prevent the bill passing as the government has such a huge majority in the House of Commons that it can simply 'ping pong' the bill back to the Lords unamended.
