Great to see the government now speaking for the majority and fighting this woke garbage with legislation.
There's only two genders, male and female, and they are the same as the sex you are. End of story.

Inflammatory edginess aside, if there's an actual law on having separate toilets that will put an enormous strain on a huge number of small businesses who often only have the one toilet - sounds like pandering to the loud gammons without having thought through the logistics

What actual concrete benefits does this bring? Historical views on gender aren't any more relevant than historical views on the sun revolving around the Earth or historical views on disease. Science evolves and so does understanding, and the vast majority of biologists agree that gender identity is separate from sex. Saying "End of story" does not negate this fact, whether you like it or not.
All this legislation is doing is stopping people from using the bathroom which they're comfortable with. I do not see how this benefits you. Furthermore, encouraging trans women into men's bathrooms and trans men into women's bathrooms won't make anyone safer. Your entire argument and therefore support for this policy is based on your misunderstanding of gender identity and the enjoyment you get from seeing vulnerable people suffer because you don't like them for whatever reason.
@hungryfront;
Listen, there's no point playing the victim-card with me because it won't get you anywhere.
You can sit and argue that men who have cut their testicles off and who wear women's clothes are now women until you're blue in the fact, but biology doesn't lie. If you were to have an actual biologist examine their muscle mass, their bone density, their hormones, their brain, their internal organs and even their external organs - biology would declare them to be a man. That's how we identify mummies and corpses from decades, centuries and even thousands of years ago to find out whether they were man or woman. That's why we are not sat here scratching our heads as to whether Tutankhamun was a man or a woman, or whether Richard III was a King or a Queen. Science doesn't give a care in the world what you "feel" you are inside.
The fake vagina, the fake breasts and the injected hormones will all rot away leaving behind what cannot be changed or disguised, the corpse of a male.
I think the question was actually just "why do people need to be pushed into one bathroom or the other"
@FlyingJesus;
Women feel safer in their own bathrooms and we know especially in bars that a lot of men turn very pervy when drunk and it is an explosive cocktail mix waiting to happen.
The real question is, why should society be re-ordered to suit the fantastical needs of a very small minority?
You say women will feel safer, but let's look at the actual reality:
Trans men will be forced to use women's bathrooms. That is a fact whether you like it or not. You can say "trans men are actually women", sure, but the point is that people who look very very male are going to be using women's bathrooms more often. This makes it far easier for a cis man to just say "I was born a woman" and enter the women's room.
Does making it easier for cis men to enter women's bathrooms really make women safer?
Also, nobody is disputing that people will rot away to be male or female. Nobody's altering their skeleton. What is happening is that people are changing their appearance to help treat an actual medical condition of gender dysphoria.
Yes, that part in bold is exactly what I am saying.
The male bathroom is for men and the female bathroom is for women. By trying to blur the lines between two very different distinctions of people that we all categorically know to be a truism since the dawn of time, you are the one who is risking men finding it more socially acceptable to use the women's bathroom - and while that isn't the end of the world, it is a bad thing if men begin to routinely use women's bathrooms as we then end up with sexual assault, again particularly in a nightclub/drunken setting.

If you read the rest of the sentence it literally says why that doesn't make things any safer for anyone. On top of that, someone who wants to prey on unsuspecting women and goes out of their way to do so is someone who isn't going to care what the door says, so it would make absolutely no positive difference
