The Lord Darling dies aged 70

Former Chancellor from 2007 to 2010 under Gordon Brown's premiership has died following cancer illness

Very unexpected, RIP.

Earlier this year we lost Lord Lawson who was Chancellor during the 1980s. Now the Chancellor left alive who goes furthest back in history is Lord Lamont, who served during the Major Ministry in the 1990s.
