Building work to start in early 2026 on the new metro station in the city centre
Oh this is such a long time coming.
Whilst I'm happy we'll now have x3 metro stations in the city centre, the fact this took so long to get off the ground for what is such a thriving/trendy neighbourhood is typical of modern Britain and our absurd planning system. There used to be a station in this cutting back in Victorian times (known as St James) so rebuilding that station isn't exactly rocket science and all the hard work was done over a century ago... yet it's taken more than a decade just to get spades in the ground.
