I thought he was going to kill me. His name is Mark and he’s my step dad well me and my twin Amber’s step dad. Well my name is Cali and our step dad is harmful and mean. He is really abusive and hits me and Amber. Its been happening since our real dad Jon left. Our mum met Mark, and they married and now our mum is pregnant and it gets worse. WITH HIS BABY! So me and Amber is eleven and we were eating our dinner and it was Sunday and it was mums special roast chicken, chips, and a lot more. I was drinking my juice and mum was refilling the jug and all of a sudden Mark comes around and pushes my head down. I gave him a angry look. ‘’Don’t play with your juice!’’ Mark shouted. I looked at Amber. She looked at Mark and he smiled at her. ‘’What’s all this shouting eh?’’ mum asked as she walked in. ‘’Cali was playing with her juice’’ Mark said. ‘’I was not!’’ I shouted. ‘’Cali go to your room!’’ mum said. ‘’Grr’’ I thought. Amber soon came up and we talked until Mark entered. ‘’Lights out! It’s 6:30pm’’ he said. ‘’Ok’’ Amber said. Then she locked our bedroom door. We have a lock on our door which our old dad Jon fitted in so we have our privacy. ‘’I want dad’’ Amber cried. ‘’Me too.’’ I cried. We didn’t like sleeping apart so we slept together. ‘’I’m going to find dad’s address on the laptop’’ I told Amber. Then at 3:12am I went on the laptop and searched Jon Parker. It came up. ‘’Amber come over here’’ I said. ‘’What is it?’’ she asked. ‘’I found dads address!’’ I said. ‘’Where does he stay’’ she asked. ‘’He stays only ten minutes away!’’ I said excitedly. ‘’Lets go there tomorrow’’ Amber said. ‘’Let’s go to bed now.’’ I said and shut down my laptop.
The next day at school when the register came me and Amber said we were home-dinners so we can go to our dads. At 12:30pm we went to dads house. We knocked on the door and a man answered. ‘’Is Jon Parker here?’’ Amber asked. ‘’I’m Jon Parker. Who are you?’’ he replied. ‘’We’re Amber and Cali Parker’’ I said. ‘’Oh my god. Amber? Cali?’’ he said. ‘’I’m so sorry I left but come in what’s been happening?’’ he asked. ‘’Our step dad is hurting us and we miss you and we want to live with you’’ I said. ‘’Well does your mum know you’re here?’’ he asked. ‘’No, but we said we were home-dinners’’ Amber said. ‘’Well I’ll make you something to eat’’ he said ‘’And then go back to school Ok?’’ ‘’Ok’’ me and Amber replied. He made us the best meal ever. It was a nice bacon roll and chocolate milkshake. ‘’Bye dad’’ me and Amber said. ‘’Bye kids’’ he said. ‘’Wait, dad?’’ I said. ‘’What’s wrong?’’ he asked. ‘’Me and Amber want to live with you because mum is pregnant and and we hate our step dad Mark.’’ I said. ‘’Well we will have to go to court and tell your mum ok?’’ he said. ‘’Ok!’’ I said.
When we went home Mark and mum were sitting at the table. ‘’Girls, sit down.’’ Mum said. ‘’What is it?’’ Amber asked. ‘’We got a phone call from your dad, and he’s taking us to court because he wants custody of you two.’’ Mum said. ‘’What?’’ I asked ‘’tomorrow at twelve!’’ Mark remarked. ‘’Really? Our dad?’’ Amber said. ‘’Yes. You two choose so think’’ Mum said. So we ran upstairs and talking. ‘’I’m defiantly going with dad’’ I said. ‘’Me too.’’ Amber added. That night when we were in our bed we heard something. I woke Amber up and said ‘’Amber I think Mark is hitting mum.’’ ‘’Me too’’ she cried. We heard mum cry and shout. Mark left the house. We looked outside and saw his car head to the pub. Me and Amber ran downstairs and hugged mum. ‘’What happened?’’ Amber asked. ‘’He hit me.’’ She cried. ‘’Mum? He has been doing the same to us’’ I said. ‘’What?’’ she asked. ‘’He’s been violent.’’ Amber said. Then mum had stomach pains. ‘’M..mum? are you ok?’’ I asked. ‘’CALI PHONE AN AMBULANCE!’’ She shouted. So I picked up the phone and dialled 999 and said ‘’My mum is going through labour please hurry and come to 5 Stewart Street, It’s the middle house. Please hurry me and my sister is scared!’’. When I hung up I put pillows at the side and bottom of my mum and told her to take her knickers off encase the baby is coming. Then I saw a head. ‘’Emm mum? The baby is coming’’ I said. ‘’AMBER GO OUTSIDE AND FIND THE AMBULANCE!’’ I cried. I got gloves from the kitchen and kneeled down at the bottom of my mum. I can’t believe I delivered a baby. Then the ambulance men came in. ‘’My daughter Cali delivered this little girl.’’ Mum said. ‘’Awww’’ Amber said. ‘’She’s cute.’’ ‘’What’s her name mum?’’ I asked. ‘’I think…. Rebekah’’ she said.
Five weeks passed and mum and dad met on the street and they got talking and one year later they re-married.
11 years later. I was in a hospital bed and gave birth to twin girls. I called them Alana and Keely. And Amber had twins a boy and a girl called James and LuLu. Rebekah is 11 and is really cool and I have a boyfriend. And the other day when I was taking Keely and Alana for a walk I saw Mark. With a baby. But hey! That’s a different story.
