Chavs

Do you like chavs? My mate and i were arguing about this earlier
SHe said chavs are stupid because they thretened my best mates bro! wowee i really care xD i said all chavs arnt stupid coz im part chav im a nice chav tho.. SHe said he didnt do anything and a chav came up n thretened him coz e was playing hide n seek She said he wasn't ! him and his mates were playing hide and seak behind the cars in the car park and they werent anywhere near the cars they were at least 1 meter away from it and this boi held him up by the neck and said "if u even touch my car i will burn your face with the lighter" and he was just about 2 flick it when he ran away.. All chavs arnt stupid are they? Some are like vandalists but most of them are ok. Please post your views on this :)

Is a chav the same thing as a scallie?

People have there different ideas as to what 'chavs' are. Some say they wear fake designers such a Burberry. My idea of a chav is someone who weears a cap with their hoodie over it. They walk around the streets thinkin they're 'bad' and they threaten and mug people. If you go onto fat-pie.com theres a mick-take of chavs which the site owner made... He's called Devvo. He's the type of chav i'm talking about.. you should watch some...

i dislike most chavs - a few of my mates are but if they act like some chavs like vandalizing an thinking there bad then i just punch em and tell em to **** off

Streotypeing chav's?

A chav is a streotype. People can choose to be one or not to be one, depeding on how they choose to dress or act.
But people have diffenet opions on what a chav is. a chav not acta;ly be a real grouping, and just a name for those who consider themslevs chav's "/ which is for the most part not seen as a good thing.

If you are not a strotypical chav, your not a chav, just as if your not a striotypical goth, your not a goth "/

I personly think this sort of groupings are a bit sad, but if people want to lable themslves to make them feel like they fit in more, thats there bissiness, i personal am much happyer just being me

I h8 to stereotype certain ppl as chavs. But the ppl i do deserve it! They walk around acting all 'Hard' and playin up in class and stuff. Sometimes its funny to watch but others its so annoyin! Plus most of the people who i class as 'chavs' aren't nice people and laugh at other pplz expense!

Nah not really i kno quite a few goths and they're all quite wacky and funny. Never mean cos they're targeted alot by others.

I agree with you there. Some of them aren't great people, but it is wrong to say that all chavs are the same and all chavs like to cause trouble.

How can you tell if someone is a chav by what they are wearing? I could go out dressed in all black and white powder on my face, but that still wouldn't make me a goth. It is just the way some goths or in this case chavs look.

I hate chavs..grrr..they think they "well 'ard" and it just proper annoys me how they think they are better than everyone else and have the right to beat everyone up. When people say that all chavs arn't that bad; it's because the ones you know arn't "proper chavs"

Well... I grew up with the chaviest of the chavs i guess lol. I dont judge anyone, me, myself, ye sometimes il wear addidas or nike but i guess im more individual. Nenywho... There are some "Chavs" who yes are total jerks but most arent. People think there all bad ye. Well i grew up in council estates, my mother an alchy. And the majority of people in my estates were lovely people, u wud get ur weirdos and that but hey! Thing is us council kids, we aint got much money so ye we cant go cinema or shopping or 2 the pub, clubs so ye they r gunna cause trouble, i mean a bottle of white lightning and a can of spray paint, costs less then a trip to the cinema. Anyway o, chaffing... It is now 6:00am... i have had 3 hours sleep in 3 days. Mission portable toilet you can fit in your bag is still in progress....

I'm a skater/punk and when i'm skatin with my mates,chavs try and start fights.

I think I'm what I am because my dad owns a music shop,and I get to know people out of bands, and i'm in a band myself.
So I've grown up in a rock n roll life.

The majority of chavs vandalise and make ruthless comments to people in public, and yet seem to be proud of being a 'chav'.
Therefore I don't understand why people say 'Don't be stereo-typical about chavs', when they are being stereo-typical themselves by labelling themselves.

To be honest I'm just me, I don't really wanna be a chav, I don't really see anything appealing about vandalising things, smoking and stuff, and most chavs do it to impress eachother.

Why wish to call yourself a chav, when you 'don't do anything bad', I'm not exactly sure what chav stands for, but it's nothing nice, so if you want to be perceived as being a friendly person, I suggest you stop labelling yourself.

Labelling people by how they dress or what music they listen to is pretty stupid. I listen to all kinds of music (except RnB/Hip Hop etc) and dress however i want to.

People may class me as a Punk, or a Skater or whatever...the truth is i dont care.

The people known to act in a way which is stereotypically a "Chav" are also really annoying, I dont mind the fact they dress in (what i would consider) clothes i wore back in Year 6 or something, or that they wear gold jewellery.

What really annoys me is that they make their cars loud and have no care for the speed limits or other people on the road. They also give you a really evil look if you dont look like them, or start a fight if its 3 or more on 1.

The media hype surrounding "Chavs" is also annoying me, they go around terrorising people and society but get praise from the media, and celebreties dressing like them to be "cool"

They should all grow up and stop acting like they do.

I was referring to sterotypical chavs, it seems your friend has labelled herself, or other people labelled her a chav.

I haven't got any chav mates so i wouldn't know but for instance, my brother is a sk8r mosha thing and he went to the fair with his mates and this girl got beat up (Who he was walking with) by a chav for her money, people like this make me sick, also this dude called breffeni whos a nice boy hes really friendly and harmless basically, he got punched in the face by a chav for no reason, they were just picking fights people like that upset me and i find it upsetting. =[ I dont go to those sort of fairs anymore due to these type people but i am not saying they are all like that because they aint, just the really annoying 'Think they are hard' chavs. I personally don't see myself as anything? Just a normal person who listens and wears what ever i want lol, i don't stick to a certain look or type of music or w/e to fit in, i wear and listen to w/e i please :)

Mostly its the way they are dressed, and it is the way they act, whether its being loud or obnoxious, OR running around starting fights and just generally being anti-social.

... where im from [Luton] it's reportedly the worst town in the country. Theres major chavs that surround the town.. i never go there now. i always go shopping in London or go Milton Keynes - my school is like 95% chavs! literally!! The crimes are bad but not too bad if you know what i mean. the part on Luton where im from isnt that bad either.. i'm just glad that i dont have to live in a dump and i dont come from a broken family. I don't mean to be big-headed or anything but my family is quite well-off. I'm use to wearing designers now so when i see chavs wearking like fake deisngers im just like "Ugh... chav!!" My friend isnt a chav she just comes from the roughest area of Luton she isnt chavvy at all...it's just wear she lives. Luckily people don't stereotype her... i'm guessing 'Chav' will die out one day... im sure... probably... :x

whos chaves?

No offense to anybody ok, but I detest chavs(or neds as they are called up here) They always pick on the weak people(like me) and it really makes you feel low. Now I have suffered bullying in the past(and at this present moment) from chavs thinking they are all hard because they wear what they call "style" and smoke. I mean the neds at my school always pick on the goths, at certain times (mainly 3) the police have had to become involved as they were getting blood out of the goths! Ok not all chavs are hateful but most of them are. It really hurts especially if your friend from primary school turns into a chav and starts picking on you because you follow the dress code, stay inside the rules and not wear the most trendiest clothes.

Now myself, I don't wear fashion labels as I think what's the point? It comes into fashion and goes back out of fashion. A t-shirt, fleece, joggy bottoms would suit me fine as I feel most comfortable and more myself in those rather than designer burberry or whatever.

Sorry to all the chavs out there who are nice, do not take offense to this. Another thing is "Happy Slapping" what fun is it to see another person crying in pain and possible end up in hospital with head injuries?? WHY??

Thanks. See this is another WRONG way that people see others. You may think that people living in a council house are all good for nothing "Chavs" NO! I lived in council housing till i was 14. The majority of my neighbours and friends were actually lovely people who had just been messed up in one way or another. Single mothers whod left bad relationships penniless. Disabled people who couldnt work ect. Ye, i guess there is more trouble in council estates. Kids can't afford to do what others are doing, like going cinema, shopping ect. Like i said before, A bottle of White lightning and A can of spray paints costs less then what most kids do on there weekends. In the Council flats i used to live in, Tagging was a way of life. We were kind of in a bit of a turf war with a richer area. They used to come to the flats and tag there names all over the place, drink alcohol on our doorsteps and cause trouble. They were using our home as a kind of free house. Coming to us and causing these problems. My brothers and sisters used to get woken up by them skateboarding around and playing knock knock ginger on our door in the middle of the night. If someone treated your home like this you'd be angry wouldn't u? So we would try our best to cover up there tags with our own... and then go fown to the rich areas and spray paint there garages.
