i enjoyed the manga more so than the anime. 12 Volumes long and has a diffrent ending to the anime. Plus the drawings are great.
I think I'll look out for it if I ever get the chance, and if it's not too expensive.
I love the manga, but enjoyed the anime a lot more. The anime is more mature and has a much darker tone, plus the voice acting, music and editing just can not be beaten. The montage of Light madly writing names into his Death Note in the first episode just can't be replicated in manga, as draw images can't portray the sense of speed and intensity as much as animation can. Though with that said the manga still does a damn good job. I think I prefer the anime in pretty much every aspect however, but I do wish they animated the last few scenes in the manga as well instead of leaving them out. Although I prefer the anime, I totally recommend the manga though. It is one of the best books out there.
I think I share your views and will most likely take your advice :D. There's a good manga shop in Liverpool I went to once, so might try and go there.
Is there any other manga or anime by the same people that made Death Note?
Pfft but they had massive chins! xD thats what annoyed me about the anime. but yes the anime is good. and one major factor makes it awesome.
Kazuya Nakai, lol not alot of speaking but hes awesome and anything hes in is awesome. Kappei Yamaguchi makes a good L aswell sounds so diffrent to Usopp.
Thats what i need to buy :D dvds Kazuya Nakaiis in. anyway yes But yes Death Note as a manga is really good drawing is really well done aswell dosen't get sloppy like other series
The guy that directed Death Note hasn't really done anything else worth mentioning, but the two guys that created the manga are currently publishing a new-ish series called Bakuman. It's light years away from Death Note, however. Madhouse, the animation studio that adapted Death Note to the screen, have produced many fantastic series though. They're probably my favourite studio in fact. Some good stuff they've done includes Hajime no Ippo, Monster, Beck, Trigun and all of Satoshi Kon's films.
How can you talk about the voice actors without even mentioning Mamoru Miyano!? He is by far the best voice actor in the entire show and has probably displayed the best voice acting in any anime, ever. Kappei Yamaguchi is good, but he is way overrated and Kazuya Nakai has too small a role to make any impact.
Mamoru Miyano - Light
Kappei Yamaguchi - L
Kazuya Nakai - Mogi
Mamoru Miyano (Light) and Ryo Naitou (Matsuda) in the very last episode was some of the best voice acting I have ever seen in my opinion.
Cool, I think I might watch DN again.
