How the hell has this thread actually gone on for this many posts? It's very simple:
If you are community staff then you ought to be an active part of the Habbox community (I've bolded the buzzword to make it oh so very simple for everyone) and therefore it makes sense for such staff members to have names on Habbo and on the forum the same, so you know who you're talking to. If I were to tell people at college that my name's Tom and I'm a short ginger male then go to meet them elsewhere to do a project and there be dressed convincingly as a black girl going by the name Chandrice, I wouldn't expect them to recognise me and it could lead to a lot of confusion either in conversation or with regards to getting our work done.
Suggesting that the tiny postbit displaying Habbo usernames could be used to solve the problem is as useful as saying that one could, with effort, work out my true identity through the disguise by undressing me - it's possible, and it would do the trick, but it's not something you'd think to do at first and isn't the obvious answer. Similarly, checking the Habbo postbit is not something that you do when looking at someone's post, partly because not everyone uses it anyway but mostly because we rely on the actual stated name of the poster to identify someone. If I see someone post and don't recognise the name I certainly don't check to see if their Habbo name is one I know, and I'm sure the majority of people don't do that either.
With regards to rare values staff, I think it's probably wrong to label them as community staff as they (insofar as their work goes) use the hotel merely as a means to an end, and are essentially better suited as content staff due to what that "end" is.
Ahhh good old made up, unreferenced statistics. Publicised is not particularly similar to Bethie, DarkEnemy does not resonate with Richie, Red looks nothing like Kirsty, Glitzen and Emma are not the same word, and this is just a few current staff members that I can think of off the top of my head who've had to (or will have to in Emma's case) have a name change on the forum.
As for name tags, I'm pretty certain that's what a forum name is. Again, nobody looks at the Habbo postbit when talking to someone on forum
And for the people who really don't like their Habbo name? Suddenly quite a few staff resign.. hmm..
And surely it wouldn't be too difficult for people to have to drag their eyes away from the oh-so interesting post that they're reading to glance at the person's username. It would only take a second or so. Just because people don't look at the postbitnowdoesn't mean to say they won't change their habits if there is suddenly something to look at :S
If you really hated your a name that much you wouldn't be using it on a site where thousands of people can see it, that's just daft
