You, Your mate and your girlfriend nothing is more awkward for them. Infact dont do it at all in front of them, a simple kiss is fine but actually sucking out each others tongues infront of other people makes them feel awkward.

In fact you will probably find that they say these sort of childish things not because they are jealous or think the opposite sex has the "cooties" but because they feel awkward and trying to stop that feeling.

Well I never 'snog' or 'make out' with a girl in public, no-body wants to watch me stick my tongue down a girls throat.
But yeah, don't concentrate on people making you laugh, I hate it when your 'making out' with a girl and you burst out laughing, don't you?
