Ages of consent around the world

16 over here in Australia.

12 is way to young for most. But in some cultures thats acceotable because people dont live as long or thats their custom. Each to their own different cultures different rules, so im making no comment or judgement on that.

Why is it 12 only for girls? Doesn't that make them a little more vulnerable for ****?

Singapore's age of consent is 16 for male-female sex. Doing it with the same sex is illegal though.

Edit: And oh, Madagascar has the highest age consent, I think, haha, 21.

Some are low e.g. 14 Like most people saying :D

introduced a bill to raise the age of consent in Canada to
16, while retaining the "close in age" exception allowing
14 and 15 year olds to have sexual relationships with
individuals less than five years older than themselves.[3]


i didnt think so many people would post in this forum but yeah thats cool i think thats the 14 and 15 olds to have sexual realtionships with there parthers that are less than 5 years is a good idea

Lol its so easy in the uk just like 16 for most things

its funny how most canadians dont actually know the age of consent, here in the uk i think everyone knows it, its made so clear to everyone in schools ect.

I was thinking that, if anything I would expect the age for the male to be younger. S;
I think at twelve your not mentally, or physically ready for a relationship of that kind. I don't think a twelve year old could fully understand what they are doing, or the consequence of it.
