The alteration itself is not bad but I think the colours are terrible. Much too dark I would say.
I'm sure it would look fantastic in lighter colours. Also, you need to add a hatch somewhere. ;)

You should tone down the purple a bit. Maybe make it look like wood? Just a suggestion
