It's very normal for a girl/woman to hurt on the first time of having sex because the 'hyma' breaks and that's what hurts.
Another very common thing is bleeding when you first have sex because of the breakage of the hyma.

It's supposed to hurt the girl during her first time, so I'm sure it's nothing you were doing wrong. If you're still concerned then talk to her about it.

Firstly yea its perfectly normal, and for the majorty of the time will happen, although now days its not always the case, as the hymen can often be broken while doing other activtys, hence meaning theres nothing to cause the pain with sex the first time. Supposedly its quite common in people who do hourse rideing o.0
