cl_crosshairscale 750 here and I play at a mid-high level. It's all on perception and confidence. If having a crosshair the size of a dot helps you and gives you the mental boost that you need then go with that. I far prefer a nice big medium-large sized crosshair because i'm a generally spraying m4/ak or an AWPer.

Famas + Burst Fire + Aim at neck / head = Headshot
and Small cross hair, Ie default small ;]
If it's too small you can't see when your bullets start to spray. It helps to see the crosshairs move apart in prolonged fire.
Yup It's improtant for pro gamers to see the recoil.
