In my opinion the best way and the way i did it on my pure was to get to 80 by going to the fire giants from the waterfall quest and using iron knives or arrows, not to much difference and thats quite a quick way of doing it. Or if you insisted on pest control i would actually train another stat and just use the points on range because you wont get much xp per game for range tbh.
