From what I heard there was posts saying users were selling their beds for Runescape etc which isn't serious.

Beacuse what your attempting to do is against the forum rules. Which i am aware you have been contacted about.
how am i trying to cause trouble if i havent broken a rule once
no i havent been contacted and if it was against the rules why are other threads doing the same still allowed?Quote:

It's not allowed. Anyone attempting to do so will be dealt with. If you find any, report the post.
If you would allow me to make it understandable that the moderators on this forum mainly rely on post reports because of how busy the forum is. Moderators can't go around looking at EVERY thread that was created to look for problems, it would take too long and the problems that need attending will be delayed more. So to be more effective in the area of moderation, they encourage users to report rule breaking posts and threads, by doing it this way, it's going to get the problem sorted out quicker and it's easier for the moderator to deal with, see and prioritise the more serious problems above the lesser serious problems.
Reporting the post is more effective as it gives them all the information they need about the content, where the post is and what you said to indentify the problem.
This is what I've been told from authorities and that's my understanding of how the moderators work here.
Plus this would be general common sense for any forum as big as this to use this moderating strategy. =]
I would like to add we don't purely work on post reports although they are a huge part. Personally whenever I come online I view all the threads in my section and moderate what needs moderating. Then every few minutes I just reload to see what is there. I do check my emails for reported posts but I am rarely on messenger apart from at night which means I cannot really rely on them all the time. Saying that lots of moderators do rely on them and I know that Super Mods rely on post reports a lot more because it is impossible for them to check every thread manually for rule breaking.
Another positive point about Reporting Posts is that if you report posts often you may be offered a trial as a Moderator.
Well I must also agree there. I know moderators like you that only have some forums to moderate so it would be easier for you to go and check the threads in those forums, you don't have as many to look after. I suppose my comment was very much for the Super Moderator since he was replying to a Super Moderator.
I do agree with your point though. =]
