It only worked to an extent though. If my memory serves me correctly there were major problems with it because it was very hard to get everyone online at the same time, and when you take one person away from a production then the whole thing could be a shambles. That's the biggest problem and it's a massive one but like Test tube said he might I think there should try one and if it works then they should come back. It will take a lot of hard work from the staff but the end result would be great.

Yes. In the last department there were alot of people there at once and stand in's for abscences. Most of the time the productions ran smoothly.

As nice as it would be to see some new productions I can understand why it might not be really that easy to do considering the planning it takes and the practicing to make it successful and then ensuring everyone can come online at the same time etc . I think it would be great to see some new productions but it really depends on if it is possible to acquire a reliable and hard working team of writers and actors. Additionally it would only be worth while if there was a big enough demand for productions. It probably is worth trying but I really am not 100% confident that it would work.

Ooooh, before I go out I will respond to this thread as it was mainly my decision to stop doing main big productions and change the department into doing talkshows.

As explained by the current manager it was always hard to get the work all done, and rehearsals to be completed and have a date where everyone can be on at the same time. There are a lot of roles, and we found out it was quite confusing to audiences. Plus, who wants to spend 30 minutes on Habbo sitting there watching other habbos shout out lines? There was also the problem of the audience just shouting over everything. It wasn't a problem as such but it mean the actors lines were missed. In talkshows audience participation is key so it doesn't matter as much. Also during the time there wasn't a lot of public interest.

Having said that I was always up to doing big productions for seasons, such as a Christmas Panto for example.

However after my near 12 month stint as manager, I left innit. So yaknow, those were my reasons for wanting to abolish big shows - but who knows. Times change ;D

If you actually realise what went on behind the scenes, you would retract that statement I think :P The work was never done on time, loads of rehearsals had to be canceled, and months of hard work of a select few were tarnished by others. Its a lot harder to do than you initially think!

I know I was a script writer back then. But from what was actually performed it was good.

How comes no-one was told of this? I think I saw one play, and it was quite interesting.

Nearly a year ago the slow transition was made to turn productions into a talkshow department. Obviously no one was THAT bothered, otherwise surely a thread would already have been made about it.

Talkshows are a lot easier to plan, a lot easier to manage to get done, and a higher quantity can be produced in an amount of time meaning more people can see them. I mean, would you rather have a 30 minute play every 2 months, or 8 talkshows every 2 months?

This is just my professional opinion, and it should be realised that although it sounds a good idea on paper (or screen as it may be) - its a lot harder to manage.
