Running two different graphics cards

It can be done if the motherboard has the relevant sockets. I'm not sure about doing it with 2 PCI-E cards though.

Hardly. He uses one card to run one screen and his more powerful card to run games on the other.

I fail to see how the game would decide what graphics card to use?

They can't be SLi then.

At the moment no but as Nvidia has bought out PhysX technology, they're going to allow you to dedicate one card to physics processing. The cards don't even have to match.There was an article on digg, I'll see if I can find it.

One whole card for processing physics is a waste.

PhysX sucks compared to Havok.
