Can someone tell me whats the point of it? I dont know much about it but i've heard of it :)
I don't actually know myself, I think you just play music and it appears on the site and counts how many plays you have etc. And you can join groups to discuss different things and all that.Quote:

it has a few functions, but mostly youre supposed to discover new music from it. it looks at what you listen to, then based on other people with similar music tastes (say a network of arctic monkeys fans) makes some recommendations. like, i used to get smashing pumpkins on the top of my recommendations list all the time because i used to listen to tons of 90's alternative bands like foo fighters and rhcp. theres an actual formula they use probably, but you get the idea. but a lot of people use it only for the "what im listening to" charts.Quote:

mine was last.fm/user/slstratocaster. other than radiohead being #1, i dont listen to the majority of the music there anymore. so thats another reason i havent been using it. i might start again though.
