People like Gomme and Jesus I'm sure will be happy with the new post counts because they again have something to aim for. You can't please everyone but now the lower ranks have something different to aim for and the higher ranks actually have something at all to aim for :P
What I don't really agree with is lowering the privilidges of members who gained the rank under the old system, I think it would've been better to tack some privilidges onto the ranks that are 5000+ posts and keep the same privilidges for everyone else; special "habbox god" avatars or a bold username or something like that. With some people having moved down ranks because of the new post requirements, and the ranks themselves having less privilidges, its kinda a double whammy for some people and they'll find themselves a lot worse off than they were yesterday.
Of course, the above is totally non-official because I had nothing to do with this decision :P
