I think that claim is ttotally rubish. I have a £30 one my mac useing eye tv and it runs fine. Nothing wrong at all records fine plays fine ect.

It depends what you want to do with it I guess.

You can do more with them :|

Like when im looking for a TV Tuner I look at whether its Media Center compatible, whether it has A/V inputs etc.
