Oh well, Sword of the Stranger got nominated and won in my world! Turns out that they didn't seem to have much of a chance really. I guess that's down to their extremely limited releases and the fact that no one really knows about them. Hopefully some amazing anime gets nominated next year!

Well I'll be damned. The Sky Crawlers and Sword of the Stranger didn't even make it past the nominations - but La Maison en Petits Cubes, another nominated anime, but in the 'Best Short Film (Animation)' category actually won the Oscar! Kato Kunio, the creator of the anime short, also gave the best speech ever. :D

I was actually keeled over the whole time he was giving that speech with laughter, at least he saw the funny side too though at the end. :P
