Nope, I hated watching the star trek series and haven't watched any of the films. The film starts a new storyline, so Kirk and Spock start as kids, graduate etc. It's a really good sci-fi film, my physics teacher who's a die-hard fan hated it, only because it ruined the continuity and plot of the previous stuff, but the film, the action scenes - just wow.Quote:

My fellow Star Trek fans who've seen it have panned it. I plan on seeing it, but I'm not getting my hopes up at all.
i've never watched any star treks before, and im really not into space stuff at all but i decided to give it a watch for the sake of Chris Pine (Captian Kirk) and loved it. Such a good film, really, really impressive.
Really enjoyed it, more than I expected to.

I spent half the film trying to figure out who the head Romulan was until I finally saw that it was Eric Bana. I really enjoyed it, story was quite good imo considering they had to introduce all the characters as well. It'd be good if they made another film because obviously they could just jump straight into a story.
