Well if you have Windows first then Linux, Linux will overwrite the bootloader where as if you installed windows after Linux, Windows will have both in the bootloader. This is from personal experience.
Windows won't? the Windows bootloader only detects Windows installations, you'd have to add them automatically.
You must be getting confused, its GRUB that will add Windows' bootloader to its own bootloader, not Windows adding GRUB.
