its not the dressing up. Its the whole morals surrounding it. Why should my mum n dad pay for someone elses children to get hyped up on sugar and if we dont give them anything they could throw eggs n flour. The dressing up is actually the best part.. if youre not gonna go trick or treating. a party would be better.

tbh i've never seen kids egg/flour a house if they don't give sweets, so i guess thats down bad neighbourhoods. we don't give any treats my house has remained egg/flour free for yonks.Quote:

well they are being forced tbh. It happened to us a few years ago, and we live on a good estate too. not a proper posh one but its got a good neighbourhood. And obviously that was a year that we decided to boycott it and went out at night. ridiculous.
well the only way they're being forced is through their children mainly - but even then some parents take part in halloween because of the children and not really because of outside influences. same for christmas.
what do you mean being forced through their children? I hate halloween. i havnt forced them to give sweets, its just easier to give them to at least try and stop getting egged or floured. we dont want to, it costs money that could be spent on other things other than other families children.
through children trying to persuade their parents to buy halloween costumes, go trick-or-treating etc.Quote:

My godmum throws well good partys for her children and it's usually a good laugh because she puts so much effort into it while my mum hates the day itself.
