lol nice..... hc prices changing? recession recession recession
This is quite a good thread for me, I'm gettin what u think for maybe another article :)
It's not the recession - lol. It's the marketplace :)
When the marketplace wasn't here I sold for 13-14c, when the marketplace came they were still selling 13-14c per.
People started wanting more credits, maybe a reason why the HC became distant and un loved (sounding like a pet atm sorry lol).
Anyway, if you think about everything, Habbo is to blame.
Throughout the years they have always been the blame for something, whether it was an accidental release, or a wacky weekends room, they got the blame from many 1000's of Habbo's. However, since the HC has gone down, many haven't blamed habbo, most have blamed habbox, the marketplace etc.
Habbox shouldn't have to suffer and get abuse thrown at them just because their reporters see them traded at 7c per (**note, when I was rare values reporter I didn't see them being traded for 7c**). However, as 'Dan' told us (not writing his whole name as I don't know it off by heart and it's hard to type) anyway, undertaker, firmly told us in the forum 'anything about trading and furni' the new way the rare value system works. He didn't say you had to go by what Habbox was saying now did he? He himself may find HC's cheaper or more expensive than 7c, but he can't change the value if a lot of trade's have been made at this price.
Marketplace, could place them at 7c because people decide to put them in and they are already a credit down from the ads, then they put the price they want in, say 7c, wanting it to sell for 8c, they may not realise that the commission doesn't come to them, it goes straight back to Habbo.
Overall, every time someone buys something from the marketplace, another cred leaves the hotel, some may come in but not many people buy them now. Also, buying ads goes to habbo so everytime, you buy something sell something or buy ads, at least 1 cred is going back to habbo meaning in the end there may be a shortage of habbo credits. Which means the HC may become more popular if there is a scare that there will be no more credits, then cred shops will become a thing of the past, the people who prefer creds will leave and then habbo may become a mess.
I remember when they used to give 5 credits out, they did this on the US too.
I remember logging on, getting my coins placing them in my room and as I was a noob back then I spent my first lot on 4 mats and a pool (noobish much), but it was the principle of the thing. Habbo gave you credits, and the next time they came out I went on the account and went on my older accounts too and found some on there. However, on one of my accounts I have never received free credits and I don't know why as I was registered verified etc.
I have probably dragged on again, hope you like reading Gibs
It's not what I think. It is the only fact in this thread.
They were still selling at 13-14c for a short while. Correct iPoster - but they were never going to drop over night. Look at the throne - the reason it went up ands up is because people wanted it for power. Now the same sort of thing is happening with Marketplace, people are willing to pay more for less credits as it is all marketplace takes.
The Marketplace mainly, it's presumably stopped the amount of trading in general, especially for lazy traders who can't be bothered to bargain. Credits are also more practical anyway, it's always been difficult to trade for 0.4 HC, 4 credits is much easier. Because of reasons such as this, there's rumours about Habbox.com changing the currency from HCs to Credits. This would make the HC Sofas a worthless currency seeing as credits would be used for most things.
The news that in an update soon, you will be able to pick which HC Gift you get will also cause an influx of HC Sofas, sparking panic that they'll go down in price. The people starting the panic have caused them to go down by "rush selling" for low prices. People are continuing to panic, thinking they'll keep going down further, and this continues to lower the price.
Combined with the fact that most Habbo Rares in early January collapsed in price and went down over the month, the HC sofa too has gone down in price. Along with that there is the fact that less people are buying credits due to less people on the hotel and the real life recession.
All these things are likely to of contributed somewhat to the huge crash in the price of the HC.
I agree that people have been panic selling that's a good way to put it. Also, the rare vlues turning to credits, that is no longer a rumour it will happen eventually, but I think the HC will always have a place.
Still is, no confirmation from management. From what I've heard, all the rare values team wants to change to credits (or atleast the ones higher up), yet the general managers here cannot make their mind up and have talking about this for a long while, preventing it progressing.
