well if I got here in time, I'd have said dump him (not cos im jealous :p) but cos you obviously care more about your reputation rather than him which didn't seem to me like a proper relationship :D

why would you want to be popular with people who clearly arent your real friends if they're loling at who your going out with? if you really liked this guy you wouldnt care what people said, so its probably a good idea you guys split up.

when i was younger, like only a few years back i used to be like you and be like trying to be 'in' with the """"cool kids""". but then i came to realise that they're (usually) not good people and its better just to be yourself. for example in this situation turns out you dumped this dude so that you wouldnt be less popular. i hope that soon, like i did, you will find out who your real friends are and just grow to not care what people like that think cos its really not important.

sozz for my probably off topic little essay to you but i think its kinda relevant and i hope it helped :P

Think of it this way: Guessing that you're in the older years of secondary school, in no more than two or three years you won't even know the majority of the people telling you to break up unless you're close friends with them.

If popularity at your school is really that much of a problem then why not arrange to be with him just after school where nobody else should be sticking their business.

And the obvious: if you don't really like him then let that be the decider.

I'm really disappointed that you'd leave somebody because of the petty remarks of others. When it comes to your relationship, the only feelings and opinions that should matter are yours and his. If people are being morons about it then they're just that, and you probably want anything to do with those people anyway.
