haha, I so voted when i didnt want to.
I don't really care, as long as it sounds good - it's fine with me.
I agree that they were a major punk icon, and were by far the most popular, but saying they were the best just because they were the most popular is rather...silly.
And as I replied to the girl, they weren't the start of punk, they were the start of commercial punk!
I know you said they werent but, The Ramones were the start. I figured I'd point that out.Quote:

You don't know long boring comments until you have read some of my posts. I personally don't think you can judge a whole category of bands simultaneously. New age punk vs The founders and pioneers. Bands like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan are just following what's popular and probably do have some real talent but they would rather create more pop-punk type of music because that is what's gonna pay the bills. Some old punk I like and some old punk is just trash. I like Green Day and used to be a very big fan when I first watched the longview video and bought the Dookie CD. Too many new age punk bands are just mimicing alot of the other bands and that's what I don't like. I can't stand Good Charlotte and Simple Plan and in my opinion those are 2 of the worst new age punk rock bands out today. I wouldn't insult people for listening to them but they really do lack that quality of impactful music and they are certainly not paving the way for any future generations of rock music.Quote:
