tagging users in posts?

I really like this idea and I think it would be useful, although I know constantly having PM's saying someone has tagged you would be annoying!

I think this sounds interesting and good id love it, although id find it annoying going into my inbox every time! :P

Would quite like to hear from @sct and @hoteluser regarding this idea. Oh ... :(

HFFM got an app before habbox so techniqually habbox copied their idea???? so we should be aloud to copy this idea aswell lolol :)

I don't think it's copying lool, that's like saying Sky News copied BBC with making a website because BBC made their site first.

It is a good idea and something I'd like to see implimented, as far as I know on other forums they have it so that it shows a notification like "You have been mentioned XX times" and once you click it it's a tab on your profile with a list of them. We would have it so that you can disable it if you wish, I'll discuss it with David and see what he says :)

i wanted to say also in my post (but didn't cause i thought i should sell the idea to the main audience first rather than the staff audience) that i would be really useful in staff forums too? could tag users for reports, activity threads, if you need gm to look at the threads. etc. for organisation purposes.

I've always thought about this but never got round to posting about it, alot of other forums use it. But thats not the reason why we should, the reason why we should use this is basically because it's such a good way of notifying others of a post or a thread. Yes the who quoted thing is a really good feature, but if you are wanting to get someones attention to a thread and they haven't already posted in it, who quoted me won't work.

There is a plugin for it and it comes up as notifications i think, you don't get a PM about it. I think it comes up in your notifications as 'You have 2 New Mentions' and then when you click on the mentions button it takes you to a page which lists all the threads and post where you have been tagged.

nobody has even said that we should get it because other places do... people have just said it works well on other forums :S
