Yeah, I guess it's sort of like when you get an achievement in real life as you would want to show it off. Same works for awards I guess.

I think it would be a good feature if it was actually shown where people would notice it so people would enter competitions to get more awards which they can show off to other users.

Personally I find the Awards all a bit pointless really... I mean, why do we need awards for being on for X years when we have our join date on our post bit already?
