Right. Firstly, the rare values department is by no means a copy or replica of the marketplace averages. If you really think that then you clearly do not use Habbox Values and probably don't trade much. Just an example to prove my point, yesterday I was in a shop where the owner was buying rares and I told him I wanted 50c for my Teal Oriental Screen. He then said 'give me a min' and then once he replied he whispered to me 'I know they're not really worth 50c, I checked Habbox and they say 20c so I don't want it' and I said fair enough and left. I thought that was a nice example to show that Habbox values still has a purpose, is still used, and is no a copy of the marketplace in any way.
As for LTDs, yeah I don't know why it's not done but when I asked I was told to wait for v7 and so that's what I've done. I'm not sure what the plans were, but @Pigperson; seemed to know what the plan was and why it wasn't possible with the current RV system. Anyway I did have a more recent conversation about this and I see it as there being two ways of implementing LTDs.
- We value each separate number but then give an average price for all numbers, an average price for the top 10, and an average price for numbers 10-100 - only using values submitted within the last 2-4 weeks (undecided). However, the only problem with this is that you'd be valuing each number and with LTDs that have 1000 existing, that could be a bit impractical.
- The second way, is to just value the sets of numbers instead. So like, you have a value for number 1, a separate value for numbers 2-10 and then a general value for all numbers. This would definitely be a more efficient and practical way of doing it and it would be much easier to find and report values. But yeah, as mentioned, I don't see why this can't be done with the current system.. but I was told to wait for v7.
As for the rare values department, only 25% of people in that survey said that they don't use Habbox Rare Values, meaning three quarters of people (Habbox Users) do, and the majority of people that do use them said that they use them on a regular basis. With those positive results, which to be honest I wouldn't have expected to have been so good, I can't see any reason for the department to close down any time soon. Clearly lots of people are still using the values we provide and removing them would have far more negatives than positives. However, in order to keep this up the values system needs to be updated asap. As I said in an earlier thread, coding requests for fundamental aspects of the system which were requested by myself and @-Danube-; over two years ago (before v6 release) have still not been done, and ever since the release of RV v3 (Habbox v6) it just seemed as though the department has been neglected and on multiple occasions it was promised the requests would be done soon, but we're still waiting and Dan doesn't even come on anymore. I guess we just have to wait for v7 now!
This numbers thing I keep hearing about is ridiculous - you can't base values on numbered rares because trades will take place so rarely and it'll be open to people fixing the values (ie as with what often nearly happened with super rares years ago where traders would attempt to trick me/the department into believing a trade had taken place). In the old days we had the same probem with this regarding HABBO Trophys and we simply took the average of what those rares were going for.
Enough of this silly nit picking, obviously number 1 will go for more just as better written HABBO trophys went for more - and the ones with the worse numbers or descriptions will go for less; just take the average and use your heads rather than fiddling around with new systems/values for every individual rare. :P
I think i trade way more than you or any of your staff considering i spend half my time on habbo in shops and the other half on zombies lol. You where the one after all trying to sell traxs for 50c? :S. Anyways enough of your sly digs, you have been clearly missing from habbox rare department for the last while and only recently came back. It was no secret that the majority of staff copy their values from the marketplace (of course there are some exceptions who actually go around shops), and before you say i'm lying multiple staff had no problem admitting this before in HxHD a few months ago because they said its easier to get a clearer value... whats the point in copying something from the client where is easier to access and putting it on Habbox where there is no way the majority of people are going to go out of their way to look at.
I'd love to see the results of the poll and the fact that it was anonymous makes me wonder how many replies and how many where rare values staff not looking to lose their job, or old users not wanting the department to go despite never using it. What would have been more effective is a secret poll on the rare values page that no one was informed about so that way only actual users would have seen. The fact the management even did a poll makes me wonder do they have the same thoughts as everyone else lol...

The thing is, thats not how it works. The lower the number the better the value lol, most casino owners want to own a rare number and are willing to pay more, along with numbers such as 100, 200, 300 etc. We aren't talking about a few credits here and there... the difference between number 1 pink dragon and number 2 pink dragon in terms of value was 40 thrones or something... You can't just place an average on them.. and the difference between say number 10 and 20 could easily be 100credits.. :S
With permission from @xxMATTGxx; I can post the survey results here (pie chart). But there was over 100 people who responded. As for the HxHD comment, I've not heard about this. And I don't know why you're trying to make me sound stupid for trying to sell trax's for 50c, when I was actually successful in doing so :P?
The same applied to the HABBO trophys - from badly written ones to the blank ones, in the later years the difference in value between each rare was rather large - yet we still took the average. We did however value the blank ones seperately, which is what could be done with maybe the number ones and twos and a few others; but on the whole, ie 10 to 800 it should be done via averages if possible.Quote:

If Habbox value each number seperately, the chances of the price being fixed are much higher (as it was in the old days with ultra super rares) along with the fact that you'd have seperate values for no. 706 and 798 - and one may not be traded for three years while the other is being passed around often, and you'll end up with totally distorted values whereas if you took the average you'd have a better valuation for each rare.
Maybe the ideal thing to do would be something along lines of..
100-200 - 1T
200 - 400 - 2T
Etc.
Yeah thats what we were saying already though, you can easily tell the value of items 100-1000 as they will all have the same value as theres no way you're going to get 1000 people telling you the same lie saying they want such and such lol. No one is saying value each one individually, we just want them valued in the first place.
Yeah that's what I've suggested :P. A value for number 1, average value for numbers 2-10 and then an average value for the rest. As for items not being traded and therefore making values inaccurate, that already happens with super rares on Habbox. Look at the pink oriental screen; Habbox value of 999c but Nat has been trying to sell hers in the mp for a while now and yesterday I'm assuming it was hers that was at 707c. And the pink laser portal doesn't even have a value on Habbox :P.
