I agree with these comments by GommeInc and dbgtz 100%.

It truly bothers me to my core that we live in a world where some people believe that children are better off feeling unwanted and unloved in foster care than to be in the care of two loving people, just because the two people are of the same gender.

I believe that there are much bigger problems that people should be focusing their energy on resolving than the issue of same sex relationships and trying to put limitations on love.

if someone cam to england and adopted, then went back to ni, would they still be adopted? mhmhmhmmmm

meanwhile homosexuality was declared as illegal by the indian supreme court eek

(it's still not illegal and i highly doubt it will be but I really give up on this country)

Nobody claims unmarried mothers or unmarried fathers aren't good parents, however as one journalist put it - as hard as they may try, it's akin to trying to lift a very heavy weight with one arm: near impossible. The facts are that children are much more well rounded with a mother and father figure than they are with - hence why there's so much social strife amongst problem families now, many of which the children are from broken homes.

I know it's not popular to say - but yeah i'll say it, that it's best for children to have a mother and father figure and that it's best for there to be a father to be the breadwinner for the family (and pass that ethic on to his kids) rather than the role of the breadwinner being the state.

My parents smoke and have done a great job, so i'm not accepting the crazy anti-smoking rhetoric that we have to put up with nowadays. But as for gay couples adopting, I go back to the point above - i've benefitted from having a mother and father and I think anybody who has a mother and father knows how different both of them are even if it's hard to describe it.

Either way i'm not saying i'd ban it just as I wouldn't ban the notion of gay marriage even if I don't personally accept it. I'd just get the state out of it when charity should be in this role.

I've benefited from having 2 parents who love me, I don't think hole or hose had much to do with it

quite frankly i don't particularly believe having two parents is necessarily best for everyone, though clearly it'll be beneficial to a lot of people it won't necessarily be best for everyone, i personally found that having split up parents did a much better job for me then when they were together for the first 14/15 years of my life and i much prefer it with only 1 parent at a time really.

I also find it personally ridiculous to suggest that having gay parents will be detrimental to children, if they care about them which is much more likely as well, then they would still be able to do just as good of a job as a straight couple, and does a very good job of breaking the gender stereotypes of how a family works, for not only the children but also their friends who are aware of it.

But yes about time it did get put through for ni really, very glad it's been done :)
