Would this work?

Just do what ever pops up into your head

Drop your iPod in a swimming pool.
Drop it on the floor and stand on it, then claim you dropped it in school and people stood on it.
Unskrew it so you get to the chip, cut some wires but make it look like they ripped. Go to your nearest Apple store/Place you bought iPod and tell them to check it out.
