Sorry, but i find his way to people very rude... I am also a host, and you should also keep 1 backup of the sites 1 time a month atleast! No matter what the TOS says.. But its up to you

This host is professional.

This host can not be held liable for dataloss.

It clearly states this and no matter what people say they can't go on and on about how they should.

It is the host desire to make backups and if the company doesn't then that is for the company's own issues.

If you signed up to there host you clearly accepted this.

I don't see your case? I really don't... other company's may do backups as mine does every Sunday 3am (As in downloaded). But my company is not a archive company. Clients must take care of there own files incase of downtime or dataloss as the host should state in the TOS.

As I said, I don't see a case at all?

I see where he is coming from.
Being a webhost is not just ohh mumy i earnt £10 today.
Its alot more stressfull when things go wrong.

On the other hand, i for one backup my server everynight, infact, a backup is taking place now, downloading to my hdd.

As suggested in this thread I will now take backups regularly.

Tehupload was not restored previously as this was not requested by the client. (and if im totally honest I had forgotten my server was taking backups).

Tehupload has now been restored free of charge and if any other clients (existing / new) wish to have a backup restored this will be available however it is still strongly suggested indivdual backups are taken.
