it wasnt bloody survival when creeper attacks get nurfed in creeper island, lands get protected, cant steal. There was like no competition to survive at all and I'm on a survival server currently and its great fun going around killing people. Also it's pretty boring when you can just vote for day so easily. To be quite honest it was just a creative server where you had to get your materials rather than spawn it.

Truths. Apart from the stealing thing, I think you should be able to protect chests.
The day vote killed survival really. I spent a lot of time underground, so I still had to defend myself from the occasional mob, but it was essentially creative with a tiny bit of work involved.

It's actually quite fun having that element of fear someone might nick your stuff. It also means you need to be quite tactical in where you set up a base and put ur items etc.

So would people be happy if we went survival, with no lightvote, no protected regions but with chest protection or...?

So I could technically pour lava over your bases and wouldn't be moaned at, yeah?

Hallo i dont play much anymore because of exams but i'll say my little bit anyway. I think it should be what dbgtz has said. A SMALL (like a house) non-pvp area where that will also be the spawn point. After that you're on your own. No teleporting (so i cant just be a **** and teleport to someone as soon as they mention diamond :P), no spawning items. Chest protection should be ON, if you go offline for a day, you shouldnt be punished by losing everything you couldnt carry, that'd be silly. No lightvote is good. I still think that even with chest protection on, there is a still a big enough threat against other players, say when you're mining. Although it is interesting since you could i suppose have to hide your chest which would make it rather fun. I guess im on the fence on that one

No that would be griefing and you just put that in the rules not to do that.

No that would be griefing and you just put that in the rules not to do that.

well no I wouldn't cos the idea of a survival server is to survive, and if someone actually builds something amazing on a proper survival server then they're just stupid. Every base I've built on this survival server I use at the moment has been underground otherwise you face the risk of being robbed. In all honesty if it was just survival you really wouldn't bother putting lava on someones house as you'd want to get stuff so you have defense.

I might start playing again soon.

But full on survival sounds fun with PvP on etc. And no /give and /tp etc throughout the whole server. Need some sort of anti-grief though.

Not too sure on chest protection. Could have it off and hide chests underground etc. Would be fun trying to find other people's :). Would be bad if names show up from far away though as you would see people underground.

We'll go back to survival, but we need donations to keep the server going, so what would people like, that wouldn't break survival, yet are good perks for donating?
