I think there should just be extra rep bonus's for different things. like... If you make a thread which attracts so many replies,i.e. 500 repliers = 5 automatic rep points. Or the rating system in threads. If this averagees like 4.0+ then a few rep points can be added.

It sounds very good. But it wouldnt replace the reputation system, it can be used in stead of usertitle. Like where we now have newbie / greater member / senior member and the usertitle pictures, we could do instead a system with stars. And maybe we can even make it so that higher posts ranks gives some extra privileges like editing own post, though i dont think that is possible to allow that for certain groups only.

It can be done by custom coding or you can get the hack off of vbulletin.org and you know what jin is like lol.
