If you hear Ninjas, they're not very good Ninjas, seen as they're meant to be silent.

Ninjas all the way man, imagine a fight between rowdy bunch of shouting pirates, or a calm and quiet bunch of ninjas. The pirates will all get slaughtered in about 3 seconds

I tipped the balance to pirates :P Ninjas may well have sneaky skills and such, but pirates are indestructable. Good ones anyway - I know for a fact that Blackbeard only died because he felt like it.
