How do you write a billion?

No the commas occur every 3 numbers, no matter what the number. Technically 1000 should be written 1,000 each time.

And a thousand million is a thousand million, a million million is a billion.

i use the top way.

1,000,000,000

just a million with 3 noughts on the end (I think)

top 1.
bottom 1 is trilion

well one million is 1,000,000 so 1 billion to me is 1,000,000,000

A billion is the top one. A trillion is the bottom one. For me :P.

It's the second one, 1,000,000,000,000, the other one is rubbish as it's only a thousand million. If you look at the word, "billion," bi meaning 2, it means a million million. The other one, 1,000,000,000 is the American term and Americans are stupid. However as international currency is shown in $, we also use the American number for a billion when using money as it's smaller. I assume anyway.
