About the cutting of wrists, you say "not all emos slit" yet it's one of the main attributes to the stereotype of the emo. Just like a main attribute of a chav is that they all seek ASBOs.
If that is who he is I see no problem with him being proud of it. About the stereotyping thing - yes, the main attribute of the stereotype of a chav is that they all have ASBOs etc. However, they don't. It's a stereotype and therefore is a very generalised comment which on the whole, is not true; so there is no way you can make that assumption in the same way I am sure he wouldn't make the assumption chavs all have ASBOs even though he probably doesn't like them.
