I've never really have this problem because usually i just put my pokemon i catch in boxes and never use them. Just keep leveling it up see what happens.

Good choice, any pokemon game is sure to keep anyone occupied for weeks :)
I might get Pokemon Pearl because I want to start a new game on Diamond but don't want to save over my original file. Also so i won't get bored on holiday (going wednesday). :D
