The reason for the % thing working is because % isn't a proper registered key with Habbo so it defaults to thinking it's blank ;).

I like "%elliott" (for example) bit, because it finds with the word in the title, not at the beginning, good find :P It should auto do that anyway really!

No I'm pretty sure that's not why... % in languages such as MySQL acts as a wildcard in use with statements such as 'LIKE' ("LIKE`col` = '%var%'").
