If u want to do more acedemic subject then usually 6th form or a 6th form college is best
if u want to do something more hands on like carpentry, mechanics, beauty etc then college is for u :)
eh i though sixth forms were just for a levels and college was mainly for crappy BTECs n stuff. anyway the sixth form i go to has a lot of freedom n stuff, in fact i just call it college lol.

i'm not sure tbh as school you know the people, college you don't but you are treated older at college.
I do both, different subjects and they all add up for my a levels.
Depends really the college I go to isn't just for 'crappy BTECS etc...' as said above it offeres a wide range for people with all different kinds of abilities it even offers the chance to do the international baccalaureate which a lot of sixth forms and colleges do not.. My sister went to my schools sixth form and said that they had to stick to a dress code, they were not aloud outside the school grounds until 14.00 and during free periods they had to study or their teachers got stroppy... at college I spent a lot of my free periods shopping and walking along the near by river thames with my mates... most of the time got to go home early or come in late , there was no dress code whats so ever and finally as said before you are treated more like an adult and from what my sister said we had an awful lot more freedom with our work at college also... of course every college and Sixth form is different so like said before take a look at your options and decide which is best for you the most important thing is not to just copy what your friends are doing if I did that I'd still be hanging around with the same people I hung around with since I was 11 years old and would not be studying what I enjoy :)
I would say 6th form if your doing 3+ subjects. More of an academic atmosphere imo and if you dont want to be with your friends again in 6th, go to another school, just as good! And it definately depends on your school about the dress code, free study, going out school etc. My school allows 6th former smart/casual clothes, you can park on school premisis, dont have to be registerd in the morning, just sign in, allowed to go out school any time (unless you meant to have lessons) loads of trips you dont have to pay for, equipment is free apart from books where you give them a pre-dated check and they gie it back to you at end of year if its in good conditin. So ye, I think its down to the individual school.
And for instance, today i was meant to go in for art and because I didnt do it i emailed my HoY and told her and she is like ''OK I will tell the subject teacher your ill'' so ye its all good :D
My school is a sixth form and I'm taking 5 subjects. It has much better pass rates than any college in our area, apart from one private one which isn't really in my area. It is a respected 6th form college and I would choose it anyday over a seperate college. Also, saying you don't meet new people isn't necessary true because people come from other schools and you are put into new forms, so while you might know the people you might not be very close to them, hence new friendships.
