Because there's less of an age for there to be underage sex? Think about it, if most underage sex is around 14/15, that's going to be included for figures in the UK, but not in Holland.

Contraception has nothing to do with losing your virginity? Whether you used contraception or not on your first time, you've still lost your virginity.

I'm Dutch, and that's just simply not the case - all my friends there had sex young. You just have to open a Dutch teen magazine, and you'll find sex problems from girls who are just thirteen and fourteen. Not to mention the fact that that point's moot anyway, as it's not underage sex if the legal limit's lower :P

But anyway, what does age have to do with anything? There are some fourteen year olds who are more emotionally mature than some seventeen year olds. If they want to have sexual intercourse with someone, whose to say they're too young to make that decision - or to say it's wrong?

I don't see why people instantly link underage sex as a bad thing. I know I didn't have sex just for the hell of it, it was out of mutual love :D.
