because they smoke, abuse the sun, genetic mutation and family history of cancers, poor diet, exposure to harmful chemicals. nothing to do with karma as far as i'm aware? i've had family die from cancer and not once thought it was because they or someone else deserved it, or have i read that wrong:S i don't get what you're trying to say

Exactly, everything is already determined and happens for a reason hence why karma is nonsense. If you murdered someone and then bet £200 that when you flip a coin you get heads and it lands on tails. That's not karma, that's because of how the coin was flipped. Might not be the best of examples but things aren't down to chance or luck, science determines it, try give me a better example of karma if so.

Life can be very bad at times
Whatever happens anywhere and at anytime, we will all die anyway.

As far as I'm aware the principle of karma doesn't apply to EVERYTHING that happens, only as reprimand and reward of your acts and attitudes. Regardless, I don't believe in it, I just know that good and bad things happen and it doesn't need to be given a name. Also I kinda have to hope it doesn't exist anyway :P
