Move to Google+ :P I much prefer it by design and use than Facebook. If Facebook, for some unknown reason, got sold to another company or bought, I can see people deleting their photos and purging all their information for fear of personal information being passed on to other people. But that won't really happen in the near future :P
Once Google+ is available to anyone and everyone, then Facebook will fall - it annoys me at the best of times, it is a lousy site design wise :P
I would actually have to start communicating with everyone i know to get the gossip :(
Also use other methods as a way of contacting people! -screams
LOL jk, i do go out..
If facebook shut down..... oh no how would I be able to know what everyone is doing at every second of the day... but really, it is a great social networking site, but if social networking as a whole was to shut down, then I bet people would have better face to face relations with people. Rather than saying " Oh he is my facebook friend" or "I know her from facebook, but not in real person".
While it won't shut down if it did people would just move onto the next thing. There always is the chance the same problems with eventually come to Facebook that MySpace and Bebo had - they where popular, MySpace seemed massive at one point and News Corp even bought it, Bebo at one point took over as the top social network with AOL eventually buying it. Maybe Google + could be the next generations network although I'm doubtful - I think Facebook does a lot more than + and while it has some advantages I don't think its worth the move.
If every social network closed down then it would just be like it once was with people talking all the time. While people would be annoyed they'd have to get used to it.
I probably would not be that bothered as i mainly use facebook for chat. I use twitter most of the time!
I would continue not using it.
I would rejoice :P
Nothing annoys me more than people who feel the need to post what they're doing every 5 minutes, and add people just for the sake of having the "biggest friends list".
