It's dirt cheap and worth the money, or was cheap in the UK a few months ago (just buy the upgrade version, the full version is never needed) :P Besides, ahven't you bought Macs? It's probably where your budget went :P

Yeah the upgrade price was really cheap in a Christmas sale here awhile ago, $100 or $150 or something and I bought one of those then and it's now long gone and used elsewhere. Sadly I needed a full Windows license for this laptop though:

Can't you just use the Upgrade version? I had to install Windows 7 on an old Vista machine I wiped, and all you do is install the upgrade version, tell it not to verify, and then install the upgrade version again and for some unknown reason it assumes you're upgrading Windows 7 rather than cheating the system, so it goes through without complaining about how the "Upgrade version isn't a full version, please buy the correct one blah blah". It's what I've done quite a few times :P
