I believe it was something from the council in 2001, never worked so my uncle chucked it down the stairs in 2003 and we got a new one from CEX which was turned on everyday all day for the better part of 8 years, had 2 GPU changes and 2 PSU changes.

Same as you, I used the family computer when I was very young playing all the cbeebies games, my favourite was Brum (the little yellow car). Then when I was about 9/10 I got my first computer for MSN and bebo, that had XP on it. I got my first laptop with Vista on it when I was like 12 or something.
Ha, I used the family computer too! I wasn't aware of the internet when I was first on it (at like the age of 6) and then found out about the internet at the age of 8 ok. I always used to play on paint and just draw loads of those circles and colour them all in. I remember trying to play that minesweeper game or something, never understood it! I then became friends with a person about 2 yrs older than me and he sadly introduced me to online games, lol addicted*+*. I've forgot when I got my first laptop, maybe it was when I was 11? Not too sure. :P I think it had vista on, not too sure.
The first family PC I believe ran Windows ME and was from Time. I believe it was an early Pentium 3 but I'm not sure as I was little then.
My first desktop was from a local PC shop and was a 1.2GHz AMD Duron with 192MB of RAM, an unsupported motherboard and 98SE. Later it ran ME and then XP before it finally died a few months ago.
Then I moved onto an old family PC when they bought a Packard Bell in 2005 (which we still have), a 1.66GHz Sempron, 256MB RAM and a 40GB HDD. Eventually I upgraded it to 512MB and then gave it to a friend a while ago. I still have the PSU, HDD and CD-RW drive from it.
Then, in 2010, I thought "sod it" and built my desktop. Same board and HDD you see below, it started out with an Athlon X2 250, 2GB of Corsair RAM and a HD 4670.
My first laptop was an Acer Aspire 9300 which we won the money for in a competition. It was a dreadful 17" thing with Vista and 1GB RAM (256MB was taken up by the Nvidia Go 6100 GPU) but at the time it was the best PC in the house and I loved it to pieces. Eventually the Nvidia GPU bit the dust and it was replaced under a cover plan, with one of the first HP dv6s, which is now useless in the bottom of my wardrobe as it overheats at the smallest attempt of usage. So right now I use a Toshiba L300 which I was given with a dead screen and HDD, replaced these and threw 7 on it.
I also have my HP Mini 210 netbook which gets occasional use.
My first was something running Windows 3.1. Then we moved to Windows 98, some IBM computer - lasted AGES.
