Rock crabs are a good spot to train at until you have 60+ defence then head down to dragons.

Magic axes? I have trained they from 70,70,70 to 80,80,79.
If you must go to magic axes, You need sharks, A di friend, Super defence pots.
Why?
Sharks - Pk'ers come and hit 20s on you, Lobbys will not help you.
A di friend - It is a well know fact Di is always at axes, If you are with a friend they will not kill you
Super defence pots - When runnng you will not get hit that much.

Combat has nothing todo with it, As i do not play runescape that much, I dont cear if you do call me a noob.

If you wish to DM me, Come on then? Level 102 with whip (me) would 6hit you easy.

I have met level 3s with 99cooking, fishing and woodcutting.
