If you really want to keep track of your usernotes just download each PM that is sent to you by a moderator in text form which is possible lol.

Why not allow it though, I don't see the fault in it? other than it being because it would involve changing it.

only con i see is management having to change one setting on a large amount of usergroups

It's only like that because that's how it was originally set up.
